Solar R290 ice machine debuts at R&HVAC Indonesia 2018

Indicating the growing number of innovative cooling solutions using natural refrigerants, the “first fully solar-powered, off-the-grid ice block machine using R290 refrigerant” debuted this morning on day two of the Refrigeration & HVAC Indonesia 2018 Expo, currently taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia from 26-28 September.

NH3-cooled heat pumps ‘outperform’ HFCs

Technology based on natural refrigerant ammonia (NH3) can provide efficient heating and cooling in various heat pump configurations, according to a paper presented by experts from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory at last month’s Gustav Lorentzen conference (held on 18-20 June in Valencia, Spain).
