ENERGY EFFICIENCY INFORMATION PROJECT: VIDEO 5 – HVAC

Your heating ventilation and air conditioning or HVAC systems account up to 21% of your energy use. Basically HVAC systems consist of three separate components that work together: heating which could use electricity or gas as the source of energy, ventilation which uses fans to extract or introduce fresh air into a building and air conditioning which uses electricity and is used to cool your store during the hot months. Your HVAC systems can be affected by other equipment heat sources like a bakery or a kitchen and cold air sources like open refrigeration systems with remote condenser. Balancing the load in your store is the key to reducing unnecessary energy use. This video will help you identify ways of making HVAC systems more energy efficient.
