Frascold and Arneg drive evolution with the R290 chiller

Frascold and Arneg combine their technical skills and experience to create a propane chiller, designed to keep products fresh and for conditioning characterised by normal temperatures. A solution that arose from the desire to expand the use of natural gases by offering a valid and simple alternative to transcritical CO2 systems.

Daikin presented a new range of air-cooled scroll chillers featuring refrigerant R-32

Daikin has is releasing a new range of air-cooled scroll chillers featuring refrigerant R-32. This new series is the second generation of Daikin R-32 chillers, a range of products that set a new standard for energy efficiency and environmental responsibility in the HVAC industry in 2018 when they were first launched. The new Series is now available in both standard cooling only version (EWAT-B-C) and hydronic free cooling version (EWFT-B-C).

Williams' new Under Broiler Counter

Williams Refrigeration has launched a new model in its range of Under Broiler Counters, model UBC16 to provide chefs with refrigerated storage right in the cookline. The low-height counter unit can hold weights of 279kg, allowing prime cooking equipment like chargrills and griddles to be installed on top of them. This helps to maximise the use of space in smaller environments without compromising on the safety of ingredients. Its dimensions are 1600mm wide x 782mm deep x 546mm high, with a generous capacity of 266 litres.

Global warming from human cooling

The International Energy Agency estimated that greenhouse gas emissions from MAC systems globally were around 420 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2015. That was about 1 percent of global energy-related CO2 emissions that year. However, if not improved, MAC systems will become a larger share of the climate impacts of vehicles in the years ahead, as we decarbonize the fuels they run on and other components.
