Regulation and technological aspects of cutting ODS consumption in the Russian Federation

In 2012–2014, the Russian criminal and administrative legislation that regulates the protection of the ozone layer was considerably changed. That brought into existence a new obligation for legal entities and private entrepreneurs; from the beginning of the next year they will keep accounts of ozone depleting substances (ODS). No new ODS-containing systems will be allowed for design and construction, and may be landfilled only after ODS recovery. The ODS consumption has been cut by 90% in 2015.

To inform on past and future changes, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) drew up free distance learning curriculum “Regulation and technological aspects of cutting ODS consumption in the Russian Federation”
