Daikin UK moves to guarantee R410A price

Daikin Airconditioning UK has launched two ground-breaking service packages, designed to guarantee the cost and supply of R410A refrigerant.

The packages are at a set fee until 31st March 2019, when purchased together with new VRV systems.

Daikin says its Commission With Confidence packages aim to bring stability and confidence to the market, which has experienced turbulent price increases for refrigerant as a result of quota restrictions set by the 2015 European F-gas regulation.

As the only air conditioning manufacturer in the industry that also produces refrigerant gas (via Daikin Chemicals), Daikin says it is able to guarantee the supply of R410A refrigerant trim charge as part of a commissioning package for a set fee, and protecting Daikin customers from tender to installation of a VRV system.

“The launch of Daikin’s Commission With Confidence service is an exciting move for our organisation and the industry as a whole,” commented Daikin UK commercial director Mark Dyer. “Our aim is to contribute to the stability of the HVAC market by helping to protect our customers’ businesses from soaring refrigerant prices. We hope this will give our customers confidence that they can commission VRV systems throughout 2018 and into 2019 without worrying about fluctuating installation costs.”

The Commission With Confidence packages are available to purchase now and current prices are guaranteed until 31st March 2019, including trim charge. Two packages are available: the standard package includes R410A trim charge and on site commissioning support and the premium package includes R410A trim charge, commissioning support and cloud services.

There are three different price levels for each package, depending on the capacity of the system.

In May, Daikin’s subsidiary in Germany announced that it would guarantee the availability of the refrigerant for itssupplied VRV systems and its ZEAS and Conveni-Pack commercial refrigeration products.
