ASHRAE Announces Registration Open For International Conference On Refrigeration In Marine And Off-Shore Fisheries

ASHRAE in partnership with other international organizations has announced that registration is open for the conference on Sustainable Management of Refrigeration Technologies in Marine and Off-Shore Fisheries Sectors, April 6-8, 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The conference is co-organized by UN Environment (UNEP), ASHRAE, the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) with support from the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Department of Industrial Works.

“ASHRAE is pleased to co-organize this international conference,” ASHRAE President Tim Wentz said. “ASHRAE brings its technical background in refrigerating and air-conditioning technologies to the conference and seeks to contribute to the policies presented by representatives from UN agencies and government officials. This conference seeks to advance the transition to new refrigerants, especially for developing economy countries.”

This conference examines current practices and future developments in the management of existing systems and trends towards longer term energy efficient, climate and ozone friendly alternatives in commercial on-board mobile marine refrigeration. Technologies in these sectors have a critical role in meeting the phase out targets specified by the Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol and ensuring sustainable environmental practices in their RAC applications.
