HFOs and HCFOs explained

The European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE) has produced a Q&A leaflet on the new low GWP HFO and HCFO refrigerants.

Hydrofluoro-olefins (HFOs) and hydrochlorofluoro-olefins (HCFOs) are unsaturated short-chain halo-olefins, which have been introduced as alternative refrigerants to the current HFCs.

The free-to-download document describes what they are, the differences between HFOs and HCFOs, and tackles safety and environmental questions.

The document is available here.
