AC900 BPHE for low-GWP refrigerants
The Alfa Laval AC900 is a new generation brazed plate heat exchanger specifically designed for use with low density, low GWP refrigerants.
The use of low density, low GWP refrigerants is becoming increasingly popular due to the regulations aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The development of heat exchangers that are optimized for these refrigerants is therefore essential. The Alfa Laval AC900 is a new generation brazed plate heat exchanger that has been specifically designed for use with these refrigerants.
The AC900 has an extra-large gas outlet port and DynaStatic distributor system, which makes it capable of covering capacities between 300 and 600 kW in screw compressor chillers, industrial chillers and heat pump applications. The DynaStatic distribution system is Alfa Laval’s latest design, which makes it easy to change the geometry inside the distributor. This feature allows the AC900 to be custom configured to deliver maximum performance, from partial to full load, in a range of applications.
Due to the AC900’s ability to manage larger than average capacities, it creates new possibilities in applications where shell-and-tube heat exchangers currently dominate. The compact size of the AC900 also means that it requires a much lower refrigerant charge compared to traditional heat exchangers. This makes it a suitable choice for a range of applications where space is limited.
